Based from the campground at the Columbia Icefields in Jasper National Park, this course teaches the basics of safe mountaineering. An intensive four days focuses on glacier travel, crevasse rescue, route finding, and snow and ice climbing techniques, with an attempted ascent of
Mt. Athabasca.
