Bugaboos Alpine Rock – 5 Days

The world-famous Bugaboo Mountains are a collection of striking granite spires surrounded by stunning glaciers. The Bugaboos offer superb scrambling and technical rock climbing (rated 5.3-5.10) in an incredible alpine setting.

These five days focus on climbing multi-pitch routes and skill development. Group size determines the number of guides on the course. A low guide to guest ratio (1:2) ensures that climbing routes are appropriate for each participant’s skill level. Previous rock climbing experience and a good level of fitness is required.

Sample itinerary:

Day 1 – Meet in Canmore; drive to Bugaboo Glacier Provincial Park. Hike to the Conrad Cain Hut in the heart of the Bugaboos (place of accommodation for the duration of the trip).

Day 2 - Day 4 – Climb multi-pitch routes ranging from easy scrambles to more difficult climbs. Options include ascents of Bugaboo Spire, Pigeon Spire, Snowpatch Spire and Crescent Spire.

Day 5 – Short climb in the morning; hike back to vehicles in the afternoon. Return to Canmore by early evening.
